I usually love these guides. Unfortunately, this year they are filled with incorrect information and attractions that are already shut down. I know Disney has a lot of changes this year, but I would have rather waited another month for them to encorporate the changes instead of getting an already very out of date guide.
I don't always leave Amazon reviews but this book is maybe one of the best items I've ever purchased from Amazon (and I buy a lot of stuff off Amazon). I purchased this for my son's 9th birthday. He will soon be going to Disney World for the first time and he was a little nervous about the rides and the unknown. This book is full of little tidbits and information and facts about Disney World. It has a ride and attraction guide that lets kids know if a ride is dark, scary, fast, etc. At the end of the book there are a few pages for the kid to fill out their favorite things and other fun info about their trip. There are also about 6 blank pages for autographs. If your child can read, I highly recommend this book. If your child can't read yet, get the book and read it to them. I give this book an A+.
Nice book for kids of all ages with fun features. I was surprised the see information on three rides that no longer exist still in the book, even though their permanent closure has been well publicized for some time, and this book was just published.
I bought this book before taking a 5 year old (my grandson) to Disney. My original plan was just to use it to learn about the park from a child’s perspective and plan accordingly. It was definitely good for that. I especially appreciated the discussions of activities that could be scary for some kids, and the fact that it explained the progression of roller coasters (start with Barnstormer, then Seven Dwarves, etc) for figuring out what level of coaster a kid can handle.What I didn’t expect was the wonderful tool this turned out to be on the actual trip. I didn’t expect my grandson to care much about seeing the characters, because he doesn’t watch a lot of Disney TV or movies. But at the last minute when packing, I decided to throw the book in my carryon, thinking that he might want to look at it on the plane. He didn’t lol, but I did, and realized it had an autograph section. So just for the heck of it I took it into the park each day in my backpack and it turned out he LOVED getting autographs from the characters. On the plane on the way home, I asked him if he wanted to go through the book and mark off all the things we did to show his mom and dad. He was so excited to do it. We went through every page together and marked it all up, and it was awesome for them, because he’s normally one of those kids who says “i don’t know/remember†whenever they ask him about anything he does without them. He was so proud to go through the book with them. There were also pages where you can capture memories by answering questions such as “My favorite ride was ____†or “The first thing when we got to Disney was _____ .†Such a great book - it even has a place in the autograph section to add photos of the child with the character who signed the page.This book not only helped me plan - it brought a lot of joy to him and his parents. Extra bonus points for being so lightweight!! It is updated and published annually and in the future I will buy one for every child I take.
A couple months ago my son checked the 2015 Birnbaum's Disney Guide out of our local library and loved looking through it. So I got this for him for our upcoming Disney trip. He absolutely loves it. They have lots of maps inside depicting the parks and the rides. It also conveniently rates each attraction with mini Mickeys describing if it's scary, dark, wet (water attractions), funny, et. in a way that kids understand. Even my 2-year-old gets the gist of it by looking at the photos.It's a great way for them to get involved and get excited for our upcoming trip. I highly recommend this for anyone who's planning a Disney trip with little ones.
I heard this recommended on a podcast about Disney World and I'm so pleased I ordered it. My boys ( 4 and 8) read about 1 park a day. It really helped them get a good idea of what they wanted to do when we go to the parks. The attraction reviews by kids made my 8 year old feel so much braver about trying the rides that sounded scary. Really helped my kids get into the excitement of planning with me.

Priceless tips which were extremely helpful for our trip with our grandchildren. Even details as to which rides are limited by children’s height, as well as which ones are scary for the very young. Helped immensely & saved time & mistakes, As one has to plan ahead, we were able to divide the family re ride choices when necessary, instead of have someone stand idly by because they weren’t suited for a given ride....Helpful in more ways than I could possibly list!
